NLH believes in activity filled holidays and these are a list of some of the activities that we organise
Wildlife
Wildlife enthusiasts can head to Mudumalai reserve forest (about an hours drive from Ooty) which is home to a wide variety of animals including elephants, deer, leopards, panthers, the Indian gaur and the occasional tiger. Mukurthi national park is another place of interest for those interested in wildlife and nature. The Nilgiris is also a great place for bird watching with many varieties of migrating birds crossing the region.
Walks and Treks
The region has a numerous picturesque walks through plantations, woods and forests, ranging from relatively easy walks to more difficult climbs up the mountains. We organize treks and walks in coordination with the Kotagiri Wildlife Association.
Plantation Tours
Take a tour around tea estates and get to know how tea is manufactured. The tour is designed to give you an overall view of the process right from the tea nursery up to the production in the factory. You can then taste these teas and take some home if you choose to.
Sight Seeing Tours
Take a trip round some of the most popular tourist destinations including Doddabetta peak, Sims park, botanical gardens, rose garden, Ooty lake and Koddanaad view point among others. Some of these destinations have a rich heritage and are indeed educational in their own right.
Heritage Train Ride
Take a trip on the steam train from Coonoor to Mettupalayam through the tunnels and the sprawling hills with a magnificent scenery that is indeed an experience to be savoured.
Shopping
The region is rich in culture and heritage and own can shop for numerous souvenirs including toda embroidery works, kota pottery, home made cheese, art works, antique and imitation furniture, exquisitely packaged quality teas and honey among others.
Golf
A round of golf can be organised at the neighbouring golf course. Guests must bring their handicap card and their own golf sets to avail this facility.
